Name:
Fossil Coprolite - Dinosaur Poop
Age: Jurassic
Formation: Morrison Formation
Location: Soldier Summit, Utah
Size: Coprolite is 4.8 inches across
This is a very unusual trace fossil. It is a large dinosaur coprolite (poop) from the Jurassic of Utah. This specimen was recently acquired from the Richard Busch Collection. Busch was the Preparator/Asst. Curator at the North Museum in Lancaster, PA from 1965-1992. This impressive coprolite has been sliced with a diamond saw and then highly polished to reveal the beautiful color pattern of the mineralization in the interior of the fossil dung. This is a very cool example of an unusual fossil - what a conversation piece!
A Certificate of Authenticity from EXTINCTIONS is included with this specimen.
