EXTINCTIONS CHOICE - Plesiosaur and Shark Teeth
Stock Number  XVOV805
EXTINCTIONS Choice

Name:    Plesiosaur and Shark Teeth
Age:  Cretaceous
Formation:  Mosasaur Beds
Location:  Khouribga Basin, Morocco
Size:  Pleisiosaur tooth is 1.8 inches long

This is a wonderful Plesiosaur tooth from the Cretaceous of Morocco. Plesiosaurs were large, vicious marine reptiles. They had extremely long necks and fairly lengthy tails. They swam by means of legs and feet that had developed into oarlike paddles. This dagger-shaped Elasmosaurus  tooth is extremely 3-dimensional and well preserved. The corrugated, dark-brown enamel is beautifully displayed, and the tip of the tooth is nearly perfect. A large portion of the root of the tooth is still intact. The fossil has excellent color and contrasts well with the natural matrix. There is also a killer Lamna shark tooth preserved in the block of sandstone - both teeth are NATURAL, NOT COMPOSITED on the rock! This is a superb example of a Plesiosaur tooth from the Cretaceous seas, and an extremely rare vertebrate fossil association.

A Certificate of Authenticity from EXTINCTIONS is included with this specimen.
