Tyrannosaurus rex or Albertosaurus Premax Tooth
Stock Number  DSTTA901
EXTINCTIONS Choice

Name:    Tyrannosaurus rex or Albertosaurus Premax Tooth
Age:  Cretaceous
Formation:  Scollard (?) Formation
Location:  SE side, South Saskatchewan River, Alberta, Canada
Size:  Tooth is almost 1 inch long

This is a very unusual tooth of T. rex/Albertosaurus from Alberta, Canada. T. rex and Albertosaurus were large, carniverous dinosaurs. Both T. rex and Albertosaurus had huge skulls with sharp, serrated teeth. This tooth is one of the few premaxillary, or''nipper'', teeth found in the very front of the jaw (note the curved serrations). The specimen has nice serrations intact, and a small amount of wear on the tip of the tooth from use. The tooth has no repair or restoration, which is extremely uncommon for a premax tooth. This is a very collectible example of a front tooth from this large meat-eating dinosaur.

A Certificate of Authenticity from EXTINCTIONS is included with this specimen.
