Very Robust Saltasaurus Tooth with Great Chisel Tip

Age:  Cretaceous
Formation:  Allen Formation
Location:  Rio Negro, Argentina
Size:  Tooth is 0.7 inches long

This is a fine tooth from the dinosaur, Saltasaurus robustus, from the Cretaceous of Argentina. Dinosaur remains from Argentina are very difficult to obtain - this specimen was acquired from an old collection. Saltasaurus is a relatively small, armor-plated titanosaurid. This is a very nice tooth with a chisel-pointed tip. The enamel is colorful and is in good condition. This is a fine specimen of a difficult-to-obtain dinosaur tooth.
