Very Inflated Raptor Egg from China

Name:    Oviraptor sp.
Age:  Cretaceous
Formation:  Nanxiong
Location:  Guangdong Province, China

Here is a beautiful raptor egg from the Cretaceous of China. Raptor eggs are extremely rare in the fossil record. This egg is from the dinosaur, Oviraptor sp. The egg-shape of the inflated egg is wonderfully displayed. Most of the original, corrugated, black eggshell is intact, and is very well preserved. The ovate egg rests beautifully on the natural matrix base. This is an excellent example of a large raptor egg with eggshell intact.

A Certificate of Authenticity from EXTINCTIONS is included with this specimen.
